Places to visit around Kent
Just a few miles from Weald cottage is Maidstone, the County Town (the capital) of Kent.
Because of its abundance of Orchards and Hop Gardens, Kent is widely known as ‘The Garden of England’. Step into the Garden of England – for fun, for relaxation, and for that perfect break. Kent has over 180 beautiful, historic, exotic and informal gardens open to the public. Kent’s location between London and the continent has led to its being in the front line of tourism and with a nominal border with France halfway through the Channel Tunnel, Kent is the ideal location for visitors from Europe.
